How has your department/unit benefited from using Navigate?
I love the integration that Navigate provides. In the Pamplin Undergraduate office we have an International Programs office, and Career Services. Being able to issue an alert to those groups when a student is considering those services is definitely beneficial. The alert gives me the ability to provide my team mates with information to help them better prepare when working with a student.
What feature in Navigate do you utilize the most?
The feature I use the most is the reporting feature on student appointments and emails. Recently the Pamplin College of Business has transitioned to using Navigate to schedule our appointments. I am starting to explore the other aspects of Navigate such as campaigns and the ability to run lists to help me target certain populations for more direct outreach.
What would you tell other advisors who are thinking of using Navigate?
I would recommend reaching out to Academic Advising Initiatives to learn about the capabilities of the platform. I would also suggest talking to other advisors to learn about ways they’ve utilized the features Navigate offers.
