Advising Matters Conference
Virginia Tech's 16th Annual Academic Advising Conference
On behalf of Virginia Tech and Academic Advising & Transition Support, we are excited to host Virginia Tech's 16th Advising Matters Conference on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center.
This one-day event aims to bring together advisors, faculty, and staff from Virginia Tech and across the region in order to share ideas, stay up to date on best practices, and provide quality advising professional development opportunities. With higher education experiencing rapid change, this year’s Advising Matters Conference theme, “Connected through Student Success: Elevating Advising through Relationships, Care, and Collaboration,” reflects the vital role advisors play in bridging the gaps between students’ goals and the campus resources that help them thrive. But we can’t do it alone. Join us in exploring how advisors can foster deeper connections to students, to colleagues, and to the mission of student success in our continuously changing landscape.
The conference will include an opening session, concurrent sessions, and other activities with the goal of enhancing advising knowledge and skills for faculty and staff while also increasing the effectiveness of our advising programs.
Join us for an exciting day of learning, connection, and growth at Advising Matters 2026!
