What was the biggest challenge you encountered as a transfer college student and how did you overcome it? Figuring out where everything was and who my people were. It just took time to get familiar with campus and eventually I met people through classes, mutual friends, mutual interests, and part-time jobs.
What is one piece of advice you would give transfer college students? Being a college student can demand a lot of your attention in and of itself, but make sure you find time to enjoy the things you’re interested in outside of school. Join a student organization, club sport, or even consider getting a part-time job or internship. I actually met quite a few of my friends through my part-time jobs while I was in school. Focus on school, but also focus on yourself and what makes you happy.
