What was the biggest challenge you encountered as a transfer college student and how did you overcome it? The biggest challenge I faced was the transition in credit hours. At my community college, full-time was only 12 credit hours and 15 credit hours is full-time at Virginia Tech. Adding in another class to manage was very difficult when I first started. I had to quickly learn how to better manage my time and learn how to prioritize different assignments.
What is one piece of advice you would give transfer college students? Get involved as early as you can with different clubs and departments on campus that are there to help you. Also, start looking for jobs and internships as soon as you get on campus.
