What was the biggest challenge you encountered as a transfer college student and how did you overcome it? Academically, it was somewhat difficult to understand exactly what credits transferred over to cover required classes. Socially, it was a challenge to find friend groups when others had already established theirs in their first year. I worked with my advisor a lot to better understand my transfer credits. And for friends, I joined different student groups and got a job in dining services. I was able to meet people with similar interests and situations.
What is one piece of advice you would give transfer college students? Get out and talk to people, don't be afraid to ask questions, and use the resources the university provides.
