Virginia Tech® home

John McGee

Major: Environmental Conservation and Society
Transfer from: Tarrant County College (Fort Worth, TX)
What do you enjoy most about VT or your major? The best thing about Virginia Tech is the community. I was immediately embraced by my fellow Hokies, and have already made so many awesome friends.
What one piece of advice would you give to a potential transfer student? Bring your hiking boots! There is epic natural beauty around every corner in the New River Valley. You will never run out of trails to hike and places to explore. Go to at least one football game and sing "Enter Sandman" at the top of your lungs.
What do you hope to be doing in ten years?
In ten years, I hope to be on the sustainability committee for a major corporation, using my degree to find sustainable solutions, regenerative agricultural practices, and environmental protection.
