Advising Matters Conference
Virginia Tech's 12th Annual Academic Advising Conference
On behalf of Virginia Tech and Academic Advising Initiatives, we are excited to extend to you an invitation to attend Virginia Tech's twelfth annual academic advising conference. Advising Matters will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center.
At a time when budgets and personnel are stretched thin, the Advising Matters Conference is designed to be an economical way to offer access to quality advising professional development opportunities for advisors at Virginia Tech, the state, and region. The theme for this year's conference is “Advising Matters: Thriving through Change.” The global pandemic has impacted higher education, putting employees and students in a place of vast change. The 2022 conference theme was selected to highlight the dedication and resilience of the individuals in student support roles, as well as embrace change moving forward. The pandemic has brought on many challenges, but also taught us to welcome change and find the positive in every situation. The conference will be a one-day event including an opening session, concurrent sessions, and other activities with the goal of enhancing advising knowledge and skills for faculty and staff while also increasing effectiveness of our advising programs.
We look forward to an exciting 2022 Conference!
