What do you enjoy about your role in advising?
It is exciting to watch a student discover their passion; when the moment hits and they are so thrilled about whatever 'IT' is - it's truly rewarding. I also enjoy listening to students and guiding them - without judgement - to help them FIND their "THING".

In what ways have you contributed to advising in your department/area?
Most recently, I began an E-Mentoring program which will connect early CEE students with young alumni. Often, the mentorship relationship, if there is a connection - can prove to be a huge asset to younger students.

What advice would you give to other professionals who want to a make a difference in the life of their students?
Ask the students what would benefit them. Whenever I need assistance with ideas for programs or Department priorities, I always ask the students. They are willing to provide constructive feedback and it truly helps everyone. Many changes have been made because of student input - for the better!
