Major: Creative Writing & Environmental Science
Transfer from: UNC Asheville
What do you enjoy most about VT or your major? I love combining my love for art, writing, and self-expression with life sciences such as biology and geology. I feel incredibly connected to my environment and the people around me by figuring out how this wild world of ours works.
What one piece of advice would you give to a potential transfer student?
Do what you want to do, then put in the work. Saw a video of someone rock climbing online and thought it looked cool? Sign up for venture out. Saw someone caring for bald eagles at a rehabilitation center and wanted in? Sign up for an internship. Want a fancy engineering job? Work your but off and build up the confidence to go to a career fair in a suit. Have fun learning, no matter where you are or what your major is, because college is supposed to not only be fun but grow you as a person so you can do all those things you thought you couldn't.
What do you hope to be doing in ten years?
I want to work for National Geographic as a Magazine Writer, Editor, and Photographer while traveling the world. I want to bring light to the climate crisis while also celebrating nature and the amazing people we have here on earth.
