Academic Advisor Assignment

It is the college or department’s responsibility to assign an advisor to each student. Colleges or departments should promptly assign each student to an academic advisor. Students who do not have an assigned academic advisor are referred to the director of advising within each college at the beginning of each fall and spring term by Academic Advising Initiatives. Requests for a change of advisor should be honored if students feel it is in their best interest to work with a different advisor (if one is available). If a student's advisor leaves the campus, or is taking sabbatical, the student should promptly be assigned a new advisor.
