Afternoon Chat Series Spring 2021

Date: April 8, 2021
Time: 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Guest: Ms. Amanda MacDonald, Undergraduate Research Services Librarian
Description: High impact practices like undergraduate research are excellent experiences for student learning and workforce development. In 2014, University Libraries partnered with the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and piloted the Advanced Research Skills Program (ARS) to help faculty mentors and lab leaders train their students in research literacy. ARS is a six module co-curricular online workshop series designed to introduce students to high-level skills, such as managing data or designing a poster. In 2018, the Undergraduate Research Excellence Program (UREP) was launched, which helps undergraduate students to connect with resources and support and receive recognition for their engagement in undergraduate research.  In this session, the presenter will discuss programs such as ARS and UREP in addition to other resources and even formal undergraduate research experiences that University Libraries provides to student researchers.
