Advising for Student Veterans and Military Connected Students

Date: Thursday, March 16, 2023
Description: The Office of Veteran Services (OVS) will discuss the “advising cheat sheet” for students using Veterans Affairs education benefits (GI Bill, military dependent, reservist). The cheat sheet includes what courses count, what to do when a student changes their major/minor, withdraws from a class or resigns as well as the process when students or advisors should connect with OVS and how.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Financial Aid

Description: Join representatives from University Scholarships and Financial Aid to discuss the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process and overall financial aid procedures. This presentation will include a discussion around the advisor's role in the SAP appeal process and guidance around financial aid and scholarship cycles.

SSD Transition to Accessible Information Management (AIM)

Date: Monday, April 17, 2023
Description: Representatives from the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) will be presenting on the new Accessible Information Management (AIM) system that will be implemented Fall 2023. In this session there will be a short demonstration of AIM and an overview of what students and academic advisors need to know about this new system.
