Guest: Arlene Gerardo, Cook Counseling Center

The transition process transitioning from the military to civilian life can pose challenges for all veterans. For faculty and staff to better serve this population of students, they all need to be aware of the potential challenges a student veteran might face when attending college.  Additionally, faculty and staff need to know what resources are available for this underrepresented population.  Through this cross-cultural learning opportunity, Green Zone Training will provide faculty and staff with an understanding of the military experience of student veterans as they transition from the military to campus life.  This training opportunity will also bring awareness of community resources available to student veterans on and off our campus. Arlene Gerardo, a mental health clinician and U.S. Navy veteran, will lead the training.
