Why did you choose to be an academic advisor? I enjoy helping students and getting to know them in an individual setting. Academic advising has allowed me to build some great relationships with my advisees.
What do you wish students knew about academic advisors? We are here for you all semester and we WANT you to come see us--especially if things are tough for whatever reason. We often know about resources that can help but we have to know that you need them!
What is one of your favorite parts of your role as an advisor? Building relationships with students and watching them grow, mature, and succeed.
What is one piece of advice you would offer to a brand new advisor? Enjoy getting to know your students--it's not just about giving them advice, it's about building those relationships.
