Why did you choose to be an academic advisor? I appreciated the mentors I had in college myself and wanted to pay it forward and help other college students.
What do you wish students knew about academic advisors? We are truly in this profession because we care about you as a person and your success as a student.
What is one of your favorite parts of your role as an advisor? I love teaching one of the Psychology First-Year Experience courses to incoming transfer students in the Fall semester!
What is one piece of advice you would offer to a brand new advisor? Active listening and expressing that you care are the two most important things you can do.
