College: College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Years as an academic advisor: 4
Why did you choose to be an academic advisor? I completed my undergraduate degree long before full-time professional academic advising became common. I imagine my path would have looked quite different if I had someone to introduce me to opportunities and encourage me to try new things. It is personally meaningful to be able to do this for students on a daily basis.
What is one of your favorite parts of your role as an advisor? I love it when students share their successes with me! Whether it's improving in a class, landing an internship, getting into a graduate program, or presenting the results of their undergraduate research, it is truly a joy to celebrate with them.
